Hiking is the best way to get to know Soomaa. There are several options for moving in nature. You can go on foot hikes at any time. Snowshoe hikes are organized in the bogs from Midsummer to St. George's Day, with a break in between. During the ice-free season, which usually lasts from March to November, it's time for water trips on the Soomaa rivers. You can choose from different watercraft, such as canoes, kayaks, stand-up paddleboards, rowboats, and Soomaa single-tree boats or "haabjad." Snowshoeing and skiing trips take place on frozen landscapes, sledging trips on ice fields, and dog sled and horse sleigh rides are also offered in winter. The summer months are the season for bicycle and scooter trips.
